Our Work

Future Africa Ambassadors

The Future Africa Ambassadors is a network of passionate youth leaders across the continent who lead advocacy projects and campaign actively for the implementation of development policies at local, national, regional and continental levels.

Ambassadors are provided with an advocacy toolkit and supported to take action to sensitize local populations about active citizen engagement and collaboration. Each year, Future Africa recruits and trains new ambassadors as part of an audacious mission to have an active community of ambassadors in 100 African cities by 2022.

Future Africa Forum

The Future Africa Forum is organized as a periodic seminar series with experts on specific themes including: basic and tertiary education, entrepreneurship and employability, agriculture, peace and security, natural resource management, elections and democratic governance, healthcare, information technology and infrastructure development. The Forum aims to create broad awareness on the realities of development deficiencies on the continent and to enable aspiring public sector leaders to explore various avenues through which these deficiencies could be addressed.

Future Africa Fellowship

The Future Africa Fellowship is a 12-month experience that provides aspiring public sector leaders and diplomats with the network, skills and practice required to thrive. The programme incorporates research, trainings and mentoring focused on enabling Fellows to develop implementable policy proposals for local, national and regional contexts.
The centrepiece of the Fellowship is the annual Model African Union summit, during which Fellows utilize their skills of research, debate, and knowledge of parliamentary procedures to evaluate existing and new proposals designed to address Africa’s development needs. The Fellowship culminates in a series of town hall meetings and ministerial consultations to be held across the continent, bringing the issues considered to a pan-African audience.
The Fellowship will develop 2,500 trained public sector leaders in 10 years.

Future Africa Academy

The Future Africa Academy leads research projects and organizes trainings aimed at preparing the next generation of public sector leaders for the continent.
The Academy organizes expert sessions enabling current leaders to share their work with aspiring leaders, as well as policy design workshops, diplomatic training seminars and custom leadership programmes.

The Academy also organizes the Future Africa Forum as a seminar series with experts on specific thematic issues including: basic and tertiary education, entrepreneurship and employability, agriculture, peace and security, natural resource management, elections and democratic governance, healthcare, information technology and infrastructure development.

The Model African Union

The Model African Union Summit is an annual leadership conference for aspiring public sector leaders from across Africa and around the world. The conference affords delegates the opportunity to design policy proposals to address development challenges across the continent, through research, parliamentary debate and critical writing in a format inspired by the Model United Nations and the African Union.
Participants also engage directly with current diplomatic leaders and thematic experts to ensure inter-generational dialogue on economic, political and social progress in Africa.
Delegates at the Model African Union Summit are undergraduate or graduate students at tertiary institutions around the world, as well as young professionals who are curious about the formulation of policies at a political/diplomatic level and advancing pan-African cooperation.
