Takunda is a member of the founding team of Future Africa and a native of Zimbabwe. He is a former Chairperson of the African Leadership Academy Model African Union, an annual conference simulating the African Union which convenes young aspiring diplomats from across Africa and the rest of the world. He currently serves as an African representative on Ashoka Youth Venture’s Global Youth Council, co-creating an agenda with other leading changemakers that gives young voices a space to collaborate, innovate solutions and deliver calls to action across religious, ethnic and national lines. Takunda is interested in the establishment of advisory mechanisms to help guide Africa’s strategy and movement building for youth-led changemaking. While he is a Business and Political Science student at the University of Notre Dame in the United States, Takunda maintains an active role with two community-based non-profits addressing educational needs in both South Africa and Zimbabwe.
