Shadi Matjila

Shadi is a young woman from South Africa who is passionate about creating sustainable change that will work for the benefit of her community. She is a member of the Youth Citizens Action Program (YCAP) support team, She Served the Pretoria Technical High School YCAP team as the Head of Spokespeople in 2018 and as a Mentor and public speaking coach in 2019, she has represented her former school as well as the Gauteng province at the National YCAP competition. She participated in the National Moot Court competition in 2019, received awards as one of the top performers in English Home Language in 2018 as well as Sepedi First Additional Language in 2019 and 2020. She represented her school at the Gauteng provincial Debating competition in 2017 and she served on the Representative Council of Learners as the Head of Peer Support in 2020.

She has a passion for working with and helping people with problems they may encounter in life. She believes that the opportunity awarded to her by the Africa Future Ambassadors program will equip her with the necessary skills to be able to continue creating change in her community as well as the skills she needs to be able to become a good lawyer in the future.
