Gaudence Akinyi Were

Gaudence is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. She is also the co-founder of the Mvuli Initiative which is a startup initiative that provides legal education and training to the public, and a certified professional mediator working with FIDA-Kenya. She has three years of experience in general litigation, dispute resolution and client advisory, as well as legal education and training.

Her areas of focus are legal education and awareness majoring in intellectual property and child rights, policy formulation and implementation and leadership and governance. She has conducted training to youth on intellectual property rights and child rights within Nairobi County and to non-governmental organizations; offering capacity building training as well as general legal advice.

Her ultimate goal is to promote consciousness of the legal culture; nurturing a legally literate society that is development conscious.
