Valarie Waswa

Valarie Neema Waswa is a young up and coming lawyer, who is passionate about women and youth inclusion in governance and decision making processes. She is a Regional Youth Envoy at Generation Connect, International Telecommunication Union, and her role involves contributing to the work of ITU by providing insights and being involved in dialogue and decision making to enhance digital connectivity in Africa.

Valarie has gotten to work with different organizations-from Grassroots level to high level organizations, in different positions, from youth activist, to youth Envoy and woke advocate, in causes that seek to promote peace and socio-economic development of women and youth in Kenya, and Africa at large

She is also the Founder of Village Pillars Empowerment Project (VIPEP) , an NGO in Kenya that seeks to empower Adolescent girls and young women through podcasts, digital skills training and mentorship. She has impacted over 1000 young women so far, and the vision is to empower 10,000 girls by 2063. One of her biggest achievements has been setting up a digital hub in Kakamega Kenya to provide access to digital devices, internet and training for young women in Kakamega County. She has also organized a virtual international benefit concert that brought together artists from across Africa and Europe to create awareness about peace and gender equality through music.

Her long term goal is getting into leadership and governance in a diplomatic position and fostering peace and international development in Africa.
