Olif Soboka Hordofa

Olif Hordofa is an undergraduate student at Tufts University in the United States studying Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mathematics. He is passionate about technology and its role in transforming societies and as a tool to drive positive change.

Olif has earned a diploma in Entrepreneurship and African Studies from the African Leadership Academy (ALA) in South Africa. At ALA, he participated in the African Leadership Academy Model African Union (ALAMAU) as a committee chair for the Executive Council where he published a research paper titled “Bolstering Conflict Prevention Mechanisms to Tackle Legacies of Sectarian Violence” and facilitated the production of a resolution paper for the topics discussed. Inspired by his experience at this Pan-African institution, Olif developed an acute interest in the field of education. In his home country Ethiopia, he is active in the field of youth empowerment where he runs programs focused on Entrepreneurship, Education and Technology aimed at equipping the Ethiopian youth with the necessary toolkit to become forces of change.  Currently, he is working with some notable NGOs in the country to develop more inclusive youth training programs to reach more youth in rural regions of Ethiopia.

Olif enjoys exploring articles and case studies in business and politics in his personal time. He enjoys learning from experiences of successful entrepreneurs, businesspeople and influential leaders across generations.
